With the new InvStG 2018 in force since 1 January 2018, the legislator has created two completely different tax systems for investment funds on the one hand and specialized investment funds on the other. While investment funds focused on a considerable simplification of taxation, the complexity of investment tax reporting for special investment funds was significantly increased. Among other things, this is due to the discontinuation of the income equalization for tax purposes and the introduction of a pro rata temporis attribution of income and expenses to the investor. But also with investment funds some changes and special features are to be considered, in order to avoid risks as well as an over taxation of the investor.
The object of the WM practical seminar is not the complete presentation of the investment tax law in its fundamentals. Instead, the speakers will exclusively focus on investment tax reporting for investment funds and special investment funds so that all questions can be worked out and answered in detail. In this context, the previously published BMF writings and drafts will be discussed in detail and analyzed, as well as personal legal opinions and possible solutions presented.
