Skydance Animation is seeking a 2nd Assistant Editor to join a dynamic team for one of our upcoming animated features . The position provides technical and creative support to its Editorial team and ensures the needs of the show are met daily. #animation

Responsibilities

Prepare picture media; import and distribute media (storyboards and shots)
Prepare sound media; break down dialogue, conduct music and effects searches
Supervise, log and transcribe scratch recording sessions
Monitor levels, log and import scratch and production dialogue from recordings
Set up video reference cameras to record talent
Prepare preliminary music and sound effects, maintain the production sound effects and music databases
Publish accurate cut lists for output
Publish out sequences to Shotgun as needed
Output digital files (Quicktimes, AAFs, change notes, DCPs, etc.) internally and externally as directed
Prepare media and perform Quality Control for sound and picture
Attend screenings in support of presentation quality, operate screening room
Avid daily operational maintenance
Work with Tech to troubleshoot and refine editorial systems
Cooperate with other editorial teams when assistance is needed
Proactively monitor trackers and updates for incoming assets

Qualifications

1+ year experience as an Assistant Editor for feature or series animation
3+ years’ experience with Avid Media/Film Composer
Requirement to be, or become, a member in good standing of the Local 700 Editorial Guild
High proficiency in Macintosh OS
Experience with Pro Tools, Photoshop, FLIX, Shotgun, Excel & Microsoft Suite a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong ability to multi-task and take a creative, inquisitive approach to problem solving
Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to work flexible hours (overtime, including nights and weekends) as necessary

$2,365.03 - $2,500 a week
