Job Focus & Responsibilities:
We’re looking to welcome a Freelance writer-editor who is in the know about everything nerdy that’s happening online - what the newest Marvel release is about, what people are discussing on Star Wars Facebook groups, and in which subreddits you can find hilarious gaming memes.
Specifically, we’re looking for someone to ideate and create short, interesting, humorous, viral or viral-worthy content around nerdy topics that are fresh to hit the internet. Basically, you’ll be writing about the funniest geeky meme and/or video you just sent to your close friends’ group chat. Have a lot to say about random fandom infighting that you can’t talk about with anybody else? We’d love to hear about it, and our audience would too.
Requirements:
Media and publishing experience
You’re constantly scrolling on social media and know all the fandom drama and memes
Have familiarity with most or all of these topics (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Video Games, Sci-Fi, Marvel, Dungeons and Dragons, Star Trek, & Computers/Computer Science)
Strong communication skills
Highly organized
Enjoys fast pace and writes easily and quickly
