WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The role of Editorial Operations Manager supports the strategic development of 6AM City’s editorial team, specifically as it relates to content management, maintaining standards of excellence, facilitating the training of new team members and owning all associated training materials, and reporting on trends through KPI and content analysis. This position reports to the Editorial Director.

This role is the editorial team’s standards-bearer. They help define, coordinate, train on, and show examples of content excellence. This includes continuous analysis and reporting of our KPI dashboards.

This team member enforces standards by leading training for new team members, supporting new tech rollouts, and ensuring consistency in our onboarding process across markets. They will own the maintenance of existing training resources and the creation of new training resources as appropriate.

Assist and support editorial leadership. Track and report on content performance, goal attainment, and overall progress towards our KPIs.

Provide supplementary content analysis, context, and feedback. Deliver key takeaways and additional context in a way that is digestible and serviceable both to editorial team members and other departments.

Own content and trend analysis and reporting. Report on trends in content performance and make recommendations for adjustments to the editorial content strategy. Leverage opportunities to communicate industry trends across markets, including data visualizations. Create and manage KPI dashboards leveraging BI software.

Demonstrate data curiosity and sleuthing. You may be asked to report on a specific set of data points but realize that you can deduce other, more valuable findings. We’re looking for someone with natural curiosity and the ability to take that kind of initiative.

Identify and support decision making around scalable content. Use data and content performance to help editorial leadership and other departments make informed decisions around scalable content.

Lead onboarding for new team members. Facilitate thorough training for all editorial new hires, ensuring product and process consistency across markets and setting expectations. Regularly audit and update Trainual guidance.

Coordinate content for new market launches. Work with marketing to outline new market content needs, and coordinate with content creators to ensure quality expectations are met.

Assist with the project management of Editorial initiatives. Manage analytics reporting for editorial projects and initiatives. Serve as the liaison between departments on those projects.

Provide support for 6AM’s team of City Editors. Assist with answering questions and providing feedback across markets. In the absence of a direct Managing Editor, step in to provide editorial coaching and support. Participate in a rotation of on-call support for evenings and weekends.
