This position will be hybrid with three days per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs) in the Charlotte, North Carolina office.
The Business Journals seeks an energetic digital copy editor to join its branded content studio, an in-house strategy and creative content team. The successful candidate will have strong editing skills, knowledge of the AP Stylebook and excellent digital content and marketing skills. This individual understands branded content and native advertising, helping clients and freelance writers craft copy that achieves advertising goals and adheres to ACBJ brand standards for sponsored content. The digital copy editor will understand what aspects of content marketing drive reach and engagement and how to optimize for each.
Skills & Experience
Business journalism, content marketing or B2B communication experience.
Excellent in working in a variety of content management systems.
Ability to strategize and implement digital content best practices.
Solid understanding of content optimization practices, including SEO, headline writing and social media promotion.
Ability to edit content to ensure compliance with FTC native advertising guidelines.
Two years minimum experience working in a digital newsroom, marketing agency or content studio.
College graduate or equivalent experience.
Job Responsibilities
Craft or edit headlines that induce clicks for sponsored content.
Write vivid text for display with podcasts or audio content.
Manage content studio service level agreement schedules in a fast-changing milestone environment.
Post content into a variety of content management systems, primarily ACBJ’s proprietary CMS.
Select and crop images to enhance sponsored content.
Professionally communicate with clients and various internal teams.
