The ME guides the flow of content materials from conception to publication across multiple platforms, including online and print. This entails maintaining standards of correct writing style (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.).

Specific skill sets: Familiarity with automotive systems, marques, and terminology; knowledge of Hemmings Style Guide; knowledge of AP Stylebook and MLA standards; ability to multitask and work efficiently under deadlines
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with Head of Content (HoC), Title Editors, and Staff Editors to plan content in advance and monitor the progress of its creation and production, from concept to assignment to publication.
Copy edit all written materials submitted for publication. These materials should come from the Title Editors or Digital Editor(s). Copy editing to be based on Hemmings style guide, AP Style Guide, and MLA standards.
In submitted content, fact check questions raised by Title Editors as needed.
Work within a CMS to monitor the production of magazines and digital content, and to balance the workload of staff as needed.
Schedule print magazine runsheets (issue plans), and Production Schedules in collaboration with HoC, Circulation, and Title Editors.
Manage deadlines for staff; this entails conveying the deadlines set in conjunction with the Title Editors and EIC and then monitoring submissions from staff.
Gather correction suggestions from staff on distributed PDF proofs, and confirm these with Title Editors. Perform final copy corrections to Adobe InDesign files before these are sent to Production.
Coordinate the annual production of Hemmings Calendars, working with editorial staff, production staff and freelancers to ensure timely production of product.
