Podcast Producer/Editor

The growing Content Studio team at American City Business Journals is looking for a Podcast Producer/Editor to join the team in Charlotte, NC and oversee production for branded content and editorial podcasts and help take the program to the next level.

The Podcast Producer/Editor will be primarily responsible for the production of all B2B branded content podcasts including short and long series as well as one-off episodes. This person will work as part of a team and independently to execute paid podcast opportunities in support of our clients. They should be knowledgeable about podcast series, audio engineering and able to self-manage their projects. They will work closely with content strategists and local market sales teams to develop podcast series with clients. They will participate in calls with clients through the development and production phases of podcast projects, lead recording sessions, edit podcasts and create promotional assets.

The Podcast Producer/Editor will also oversee editorial podcast production for our local market podcast series. They will work with vendor partners to handle scale and maintain consistency of quality across our podcast series.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee and execute production of all podcast series and episodes that occur on a monthly, bi-monthly and weekly basis
Work closely with client, local business publication staff and internal team during development phase of the podcast to create series audio elements, including trailer, music, voice over
Stay aligned with Content Strategist on development of podcast series, episodic content for ongoing series and to ensure project timelines are adhered to
Participate in client calls alongside internal team and answer relevant client questions
Act as host on podcast interviews with clients for sold native podcast episodes
Lead recording sessions with the podcast client, host, guest(s) and key stakeholders
Oversee production of editorial podcasts for local markets and national projects
Work with vendor partners as needed, to support workload of branded content, to ensure podcast consistency across editorial and branded podcasts and to execute special projects
Support the development of the podcast program by bringing new ideas, creating operational efficiencies and working with internal stakeholders
Ability to do basic video editing and graphic design

Skills & Experience

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of experience in podcast production
Ability to manage work independently and as part of a team
Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time
High level of professionalism with external paying clients and internal stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to be a team player to achieve a client’s vision
Knowledge of B2B content marketing a plus
Proficiency with multimedia recording and editing tools such as Riverside FM, Descript and the Adobe suite.
