The Janesville Gazette is seeking an experienced full-time reporter to join our team that’s committed to producing high-impact daily print and digital content, connecting with the Janesville and broader regional community and being a strong voice in a changing news industry. The ideal candidate has a journalism degree and at least a year of experience at a daily newspaper, or the equivalent. The candidate must be a creative self-starter with proven skill at cleanly and quickly turning routine and enterprise stories. Candidates must understand the importance of digital as the future of our industry, how to effectively use social media, and how modern subscribers consume news. We need someone skilled at building relationships with sources, peers and mentors, who knows how to grab readers with well-crafted words, and who is interested in digging beyond the surface in their reporting. Most important is a can-do attitude and a desire to expand your skills. We’re a developmental-minded team with mentors in place who are ready to help you grow.
