The Kent County News (Maryland) is looking for a general assignment reporter. The position is a critical part of the Kent County News newsroom. We want someone who can go beyond meetings to find stories the community needs to know. The ideal reporter has experience in newsrooms and has a knack for creative stories – both news and features. You’ll take your own photos for stories.

The newspaper is located in Chestertown, Maryland, on the beautiful Eastern Shore. This reporter will cover stories in both Kent County (20,000 population) and Queen Anne’s County (50,000 population).
Amenities include close proximity to Chesapeake Bay and all of its many water sports and activities. There is a vibrant arts and entertainment scene and hundreds of wonderful restaurants on the Eastern Shore.
Kent County is less than an hour from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
