Writer and analyst covering automotive (international classifieds and marketplaces)
Are you a great freelance writer with experience and understanding of the automotive segment? The AIM Group is looking for a high-level, analytical journalist / writer to cover automotive classifieds and marketplaces across the globe.
The AIM Group is the world’s only business intelligence service and consultancy in the field of online marketplaces automotive, real estate, recruitment and general merchandise.
You'll have an opportunity to interview some of the top CEOs and executives across the world, work alongside analysts from across the globe, and be part of a friendly, exciting team that is operating across highly disruptive technology segments.
In return, we want someone that can write great copy, adhere to the full journalistic processes and ethics, and be willing to gradually become an expert in automotive classifieds and marketplaces.
What we're looking for:
A writer with an already strong base in the automotive segment, either as a reporter within the segment or with some experience of working in the industry.
A desire and enthusiasm to dive deep into the world of auto classifieds and marketplaces by interviewing companies, reading financial reports and taking on board extensive knowledge both in-house and from various international sources. You will be covering companies such as Carvana, Auto Trader Group, Auto1, Carsales, Adevinta, Schibsted, and many more.
Build a network of contacts and sources to cover the industry. Connect with CEOs, comms departments and industry insiders to deliver the strongest content.
Work on in-depth, long-form articles that include desktop research, interviews and charts.

Qualities we're looking for:
Someone who is reliable, dependable, willing to learn and is a pleasure to work with.
Writers who are absolutely proficient in English. (If it’s your second language, or fourth, that’s great, but your English writing should be flawless.)
Someone who will develop a beat, whether it’s geographic or vertical-specific (recruitment, real estate or automotive), and consistently build relationships with sources.
Great reporting and interviewing skills, with an ability to track down people and get them to talk.
Someone who’s aggressive about finding new sources, whether they are individuals, companies or data, and working with them to develop great reports.
The position is part time initially, but there is an opportunity for a much bigger role for the right candidate. The strongest candidates will be required to complete a paid trial to ask to determine their suitability.
