Cycling Writer-Reporter

AllGear Digital seeks a skilled and enthusiastic Cycling Writer/Reporter, based in the U.K. or the U.S., to join the BikeRumor.com team. BikeRumor is a leading online publication dedicated to providing the latest tech, news, reviews, and insights from the world of cycling. With a global readership, we pride ourselves on delivering breaking, accurate, engaging, and informative content to cyclists of all levels. Our team is passionate about cycling and committed to keeping our audience up-to-date with the most exciting developments in the industry.

The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the cycling industry in the U.K. and/or U.S.. They will be responsible for generating high-quality, engaging, and timely written content that appeals to both avid cyclists and industry professionals. This is a full-time, contract position.

Responsibilities:

Research and Reporting: Stay abreast of the latest trends, product releases, events, and news within the UK cycling industry. Conduct interviews with industry experts, athletes, and manufacturers as needed.
Content Creation: Write compelling articles, news pieces, reviews, and features covering a wide range of topics including bikes, gear, events, trends, and more. Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and in line with BikeRumor's editorial standards.
Photography and Multimedia: Capture high-quality images and multimedia content to complement written pieces. This may include product shots, event coverage, and on-location reporting.
Community Engagement: Interact with readers through comments, social media, and other platforms, fostering a sense of community and responding to inquiries or feedback.
Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to brainstorm, plan, and execute content schedules. Collaborate with other writers, editors, and contributors to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive coverage of the cycling industry.
Stay Informed: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of content using analytics tools. Use insights to refine content strategies and generate new ideas.

Qualifications:

A strong passion for cycling with in-depth knowledge of the U.K. and/or U.S. cycling scene.
Proven experience in writing and reporting, ideally within the cycling or sports industry
Ability to ride & cover multiple cycling disciplines is a plus.
Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
Proficiency in photography and multimedia content creation, with knowledge of relevant software and equipment.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
Familiarity with Wordpress and basic HTML is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
