In this role, you will work cross-functionally with a talented team of product designers, program managers, channel experts, and brand strategists to help shape the overall fan experience and invite more listeners to experience the joy of music discovery. You will develop global copy based on messaging frameworks and direct response best practices that drive clarity for our customers and consistency in tone of voice. Your rock-solid presentation skills and enthusiasm will sell ideas through the lens of strategy and creativity, while you use data and customer insights to drive the best results and continually improve the fan experience. The key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Bring the Amazon Music brand to life through succinct and scalable copywriting based on global style guides and UX design/writing best practices
• Develop copy to support major business initiatives, seasonal promotions, new product launches and more
• Collaborate closely with the UX design team and our brand designers on creative production and testing for on- and off-platform channels
• Make informed copy decisions based on not just your own expertise, but on market/competitor research, best practices, and internal data
• Be ready to nimbly pivot copy strategy for ever-evolving projects, audiences, or channels
• Present and lead conversations about copy strategy to leadership and stakeholders
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES
• Write UX copy for a variety of placements and channels including the Amazon Music mobile app, push notifications, promotions, in-product placements, and more.
• Balance tone of voice/brand expression with best practices for acquisition and engagement copy, learnings from testing and legal requirements.
• Become a true partner to the product and UX teams, acting as their POC for copy testing variations, how and where we express our brand, and defining value propositions for product offerings.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• 3-4 years of experience as a UX Writer or similar role in an agency or in-house setting writing UX/UI copy spanning multiple channels, use cases, and geographies
• Must be proficient in English with exceptional US-based grammar and copywriting skills
• Must be passionate about audio content, specifically music and podcasts, and able to write and speak like a fan
• A web-based portfolio of relevant work samples
• Experience executing on copy systems, guides, and frameworks
• Exceptional communication, collaboration and presentation skills
• Have strong bias for action in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
• Self-motivated team player, with refined and assertive leadership skills
• Curiosity to dig several layers deep into success metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers
• Experience evangelizing copy guidelines and tone of voice
• Experience with testing copy variations and implementing learnings
• An effective multi-tasker who can balance competing priorities with efficiency
