Freelance Writers (Parents)

Annapolis Moms Media is all about building community by harnessing the power of the largest moms group in Anne Arundel County. We’re looking for freelance writers to contribute short-form articles for our email newsletter, website, and print/digital quarterly magazine, The Motherlode. The ideal candidate is a local parent with excellent writing skills (having children is not a strict requirement, but living in Anne Arundel County is a must.)

Writers must be able to meet deadlines. We are especially looking for humor writers and/or writers who have a strong, engaging personal voice.

This is a work-from-home, freelance opportunity with optional professional development meetings once per quarter. Article assignments will be a combination of your pitch ideas and assignments from the editor. Compensation is a flat fee per article.

Musts:

- Has professional writing experience
- Responsive via email and timely submission of materials
- Available to cover family activities in person in and around Annapolis

Bonus:

- Willing and able to take photos with phone
- Active on social media
- Deep knowledge of Annapolis-area and Maryland events and culture
