Architectural Digest (AD), the international design authority, is looking for a creative, proactive, full-time associate editor primarily to support AD PRO, its members-only resource for design professionals, while also contributing meaningfully to AD’s digital business at large. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the design industry, creates dynamic and clean copy quickly, has unparalleled organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with AD’s editors to pitch, package, write, and promote design content daily to a trade audience across all platforms in various formats, including timely trend pieces, product roundups, industry news, and more
Support events, special projects, business initiatives, and other brand programs for AD, with special focus on AD PRO and its AD PRO Directory, by writing, packaging, producing, and tracking copy and related editorial tasks
Work with AD Digital Director on high-priority global syndication, coordinating with editors, translators, and rights teams to identify, adapt, and track content for optimum performance
Build out digital versions of printed magazine content, across all platforms
Represent AD and AD PRO on sales calls and other client meetings, as needed
Attend trade and brand-led events and fairs on behalf of AD, both local to New York City and out of town, as needed
Meet all assigned deadlines and KPIs (content volume, audience engagement, UVs, time spent, etc) to align with brand and corporate goals
Develop meaningful industry contacts and high awareness of designers/trends
Additional projects and duties as assigned in support of AD and AD PRO
Requirements
2-3 years of relevant experience with a design brand or publication, or similar
Impeccable editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to create unique content for a B2B perspective
Insider knowledge of the design category and its key players and trends
Proven ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently with an eye for detail
Expertise with various CMS, analytics, and publishing tools and spreadsheets
The expected base salary range for this position is from $65,000 - $84,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
