You will apply and develop your skills across daily news reporting, market analysis, features and editorials in this fast-paced environment with the highest standards of journalistic independence and integrity. There are opportunities to travel, present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.
As part of a team covering the European non-ferrous metals markets you will carry out price assessments on products in the non-ferrous metals sectors and write market commentaries and news. There will be cross-training opportunities and excellent exposure across the wider metals industry, along with the opportunity to learn from our experienced Reporters/Editors.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, news and reports
Daily contact with traders, brokers, industrial groups and other key market participants to build relationships and gather news
Contribute copy to relevant daily and periodical publications and the on-line news service
Attend meetings, conferences and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus Media externally.
Skills and Experience
A graduate with a strong degree and at least 2-3 years reporting experience
Proven ability to develop, source and write industry-relevant news to deadline
Knowledge of non-ferrous metals or metal markets in general is useful but not essential
Excellent written, grammatical and numeracy skills, and ability to write engaging content
Excellent communication skills with ability to network and build contacts with industry executives
Prior experience of working in the financial or energy journalism sector is useful but not essential
Strong co-ordination and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team
Additional languages useful but not essential
