Senior / News Reporter – Commodities Market

Argus is looking for a News Reporter to join our team in Sydney, working with and closely supporting team editors across Asia. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, versatile and detail-oriented journalist who can quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage across a range of resources and energy markets. The role involves writing news and market analysis for Argus’ live news website, as well as daily, weekly, and monthly publications. As part of your role, you will expand market contacts, applying the highest journalistic independence and integrity standards. There are opportunities to travel, attend industry events, and present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions. This role will require a collaborative approach, working with team reporters and industry stakeholders to report on markets. It requires self-motivation and the initiative to drive projects forward with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Commodities industry experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Intelligence, curiosity, writing ability and a genuine desire to produce quality journalism are the primary qualities we look for in a diverse pool of candidates.
