Politics Reporter

New Posted 7 December 2022 | Little Rock, Arkansas | Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Are you an experienced, competitive politics reporter? If so, the award-winning Arkansas Democrat-Gazette could be the next place for you to report and write about statewide political issues, such as those stemming from a state Legislature with an aggressive agenda and a state government transitioning from one governor to another. The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience, as well as be someone who is down with fighting with officials for public records and able to help keep tabs on how tax dollars are spent. This candidate will excel at developing sources, understanding numbers and writing clearly about complex topics. Those familiar with the workings of state human services departments, including Medicaid programs, would have a leg up for this position. You'd be joining a team of three other reporters who work out of our state Capitol bureau in Little Rock. Our mission is to be the No. 1 source for news in Arkansas, a state that has always been a wellspring of interesting stories and controversies. The Democrat-Gazette is also known for its innovative program in which subscribers read today’s edition on iPads. We also provide breaking news on our website, arkansasonline.com. This is a safety-sensitive position. A candidate must pass a drug screening as well as have a clean driving record. We offer benefits such as vacation, holiday and sick time; retirement programs; and health, life and disability insurance. If you’d like to hear more about our opening or just want to submit your resume, please email Assistant Managing Editor/News Glen Chase at gchase@adgnewsroom.com.
