The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, an award-winning, family-owned newspaper that serves as the state’s primary source of daily journalism, is looking for an energetic, versatile features journalist to join our team of veteran reporters and editors.
We are looking for someone who can find and tell interesting stories across multiple platforms and promote them on social media. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who has an understanding of what resonates with readers, meets deadlines and works well in a team setting. The position also includes working with others to plan and edit feature sections.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette publishes eight feature sections a week, covering the arts, culture, society, restaurants, entertainment and interesting people.
We are looking for a journalist with the following skills:
• A strong record of achievement in reporting.
• A willingness to collaborate across the newsroom.
• Experience in multimedia storytelling and/or an interest in further developing those skills.
• A passion for creative storytelling.
• The ability to take photographs and videos.
A degree in journalism from an accredited college or equivalent newspaper experience is required. The position requires being available to work some nights and weekends.
This is a safety-sensitive position. A candidate must pass a drug screening and background check and have a clean driving record.
