The client is a prestigious membership body who cover topics such as current affairs, human rights, politics, world events, ecology and more.
They are now on the search for a talented Editorial Assistant to join their team in a permanent capacity.
This role will report into the Managing Editor and will see you cover 2 main areas of editorial.
Firstly the editorial and production tasks in written, audio and digital formats - including copy-editing, proofreading and liaising with editors and freelancers - as well as contributing to social media output and uploading digital content
Secondly, assisting with the smooth running of the department by handling admin tasks, whilst also supporting the content team.
This is a brilliant entry level position, that will offer applicants the opportunity to further their content writing and publishing skills in a fast paced environment. You will also join an established team of 8 as well as work with committee members.
This is a full time permanent opportunity paying up to 25k basic salary, plus hybrid working, 1 day in office and 4 days WFH per week
Responsibilities
You will be the first point of contact for all queries and manage email and postal correspondence
Handling sales invoices and data entry and working with marketing and sponsorship on editorial promotional projects
You will be responsible for the content of a number of the organisations committees and will be working with editors, freelancers and production team to compile and sign off newsletters and online articles
Copy-editing and proofreading magazines and committee content, as well as news releases and conference brochures
Making page corrections to flagship magazine
organising and facilitating webinars
Ideas generation for news articles and features
Assisting and supporting social media activity, including apps, tweets, Facebook and YouTube
The Person
Educated to degree level or equivalent.?
Ideally having relevant work experience in B2B publishing
Experience of having held some type of administrative role in the past
Someone who can multitask, be organized and keen to learn and pick up skills rapidly will do really well in this role
Good working knowledge of Excel, MS Word
Some experience of backend systems, such as database, CMS or CRM systems or e-marketing systems.
Desirable: Basic proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
