The client provides market-leading news, opinions, insights and events for the rapidly-growing alternative finance and fintech community.

They run an entrepreneurial newsroom or in broader terms are a Financial media and event business based in the heart of London.

Their core focus is on disruption to lending, banking and investing which also includes alternative lending, digital banks and digital wealth management.

They were first founded in 2013, and also host a range of events in Europe, Australia and North America

They are now looking to hire an experienced Reporter to help grow coverage of digital banking, alternative lending and wealthtech.

You will be involved in both news and feature writing and will be adept at writing up an interview, unpicking a press release or handling complex datasets

You will also be expected to build your own network of contacts and sources in the sectors you cover, and build a reputation for yourself getting to know the companies and people who are leading the financial revolution, and telling their stories.

This is a full time permanent position paying up to 32K basic salary,

Responsibilities

Identify and write daily news stories
Work on weekly features, reviews and analysis
Publish an occasional opinion piece on topics you're passionate about
Support the editor around brand major events, reports and new magazine
Develop a network of contacts among the fintech, digital banking and alternative finance communities in London and across Europe

The Person

At least 2 years experience as a Journalist/Reporter
Ideally basic knowledge of both news and feature-writing
A passion and enthusiasm for all things digital money
Experience on video, radio, podcasts or speaking at events is a plus
Journalism training or media law training is a plus
