Job Summary/Description:
Southern Arizona's news leader is seeking a compelling morning anchor. Are you a born storyteller who loves to lead a team of both experienced and novice journalists? KOLD/KMSB has an immediate opening for an anchor/reporter to join our award-winning newsroom. This position requires exceptional news judgment, high work ethic, and a team-oriented approach to winning. Previous experience is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of the relationship between broadcast and digital/CTV platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
The successful candidate for this position manages the nightside assignment desk to find relevant, compelling news content for digital and linear platforms. He/she leads the afternoon editorial meetings and helps determine the stories we will cover. This person will work with reporters, photographers, and producers to determine story selection, elements, and backup ideas.
He/she assigns crews & manages field crews' workflow and live logistics. They also keep the team informed of developments throughout the day, as well as listen to scanners, answer phones and emails, research, and vet story pitches.
He/she will maintain various station social media accounts used by the desk for gathering and confirming information. They will be involved in the long-term planning of stories and news events.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in journalism is preferred; market knowledge is preferred
Extensive knowledge of editorial standards, journalism ethics, and media law
Have superior organizational skills; be an effective communicator
Have a thorough knowledge of newsroom & field workflow
Demonstrate excellent leadership and people skills
Must be able to manage under pressure
Be able to operate as a team member as well as a team leader
Be coachable, participate in decision-making, and be flexible in recognizing various points of view
You must have scheduling flexibility and be willing to work outside of regular business hours, including holidays and weekends
