Candidates should have a demonstrated understanding of the value of journalism in presenting the narratives of underserved and marginalized populations. The successful candidate will have prior teaching experience or be prepared to demonstrate teaching ability, and have a body of academic work and/or professional credentials and an earned Master’s degree. Candidates should also have an understanding of the ethical, economic, and technological challenges facing the changing media landscape and demonstrate innovative approaches to addressing them in an undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Candidates must be committed to reflecting diversity and inclusion in their syllabi and working with a diverse student population, faculty, and staff. Candidates for tenure-track appointments are expected to establish a successful record of academic scholarship and/or industry-related professional output as well as participate in service and committee work for the Department, the School, and the University. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
