AKA Collective is on the lookout for an innovative and passionate Assistant Editor that possess a trained eye and deep understanding of the digital content space, especially YouTube. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail oriented, and eager to learn new skills daily. Additionally, candidates should know what makes digital content engaging while also being adept at tailoring content to meet the unique needs, audiences, and brand identities of AKA’s diverse client base. We are looking to build out and invest in a core post-production team that understands the content we create and our clients. Therefore, we are open to a variety of experience levels of candidates who are ready to contribute to and grow with our team.

What You Will Be Doing:

Merge and synchronize footage and audio, including content from multi-camera shoots and vlogs, to create cohesive assemblies.
Perform initial trims on video assemblies to develop an extended rough cut, ensuring a coherent narrative flow.
Assist lead editors, producers, and creative directors with support tasks, such as sourcing specific footage, and execute FX adjustments such as color correction, open captions, motion graphics, etc.
Collaborate with AKA’s Executive Team to enhance the efficiency of the post-production department.
Edit and refine raw footage to produce polished, final video products suitable for publishing.
Understand, manage, and ensure compatibility of various video formats across different platforms, maintaining the highest quality standards.
Maintain a well-organized and easily accessible archive of video footage.
Work in close tandem with AKA's production team to understand project requirements and objectives, ensuring that these are met or exceeded in the final deliverable.
Adapt and tailor content to suit the unique requirements of various platforms and clients, including the creation of short-form and long-form videos for platforms like YouTube.
Meet rigorous production deadlines, typically within a two-to-three-day turnaround, maintaining high-quality output.
Utilize Monday.com for effective task and project management, ensuring assignments are completed on time and within specified parameters.

Key Requirements:

Must be proficient in Premiere Pro and have a general knowledge of Adobe products.
Experience with the larger Adobe suite, especially Photoshop and After Effects, is a bonus.
A passion for storytelling and creating impactful experiences for viewers.
Demonstrated experience in editing high-impact content for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
A desire for continuous personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest editing trends and techniques.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with high-profile clientele.
Strong video editing skills and proficiency with editing tools/software.
Deep understanding of Instagram, YouTube and TikTok trends and best practices.
Excellent teamwork skills, with a readiness to take on demanding tasks.
Flexibility to travel and work in diverse settings.
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dallas, Texas.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Must sign an NDA to maintain confidentiality between AKA Collective and its clients.
