Ozaukee Press, an award-winning, independently owned weekly newspaper published in southeastern Wisconsin, is seeking an assistant editor.
The person in this full-time position will work as a reporter covering a beat and have editor responsibilities that will include making story assignments, editing and, for preferred candidates, page production and headline writing. This person will work under the editor and alongside six highly experienced reporters, editors and a photographer.
Candidates must have significant newspaper reporter experience and polished editing skills. Pagination and headline-writing experience is a definite plus.
This is a 40-hour-per-week position with some evening hours. The salary is competitive and employment comes with benefits that include health care coverage and a 401K with a company match. There are opportunities for advancement in this family-owned company.
