The Associated Press is an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting. Founded in 1846, AP today remains the most trusted source of fast, accurate, unbiased news in all formats and the essential provider of the technology and services vital to the news business. More than half the world's population sees AP journalism every day. Do you ponder how the costs of solar energy have come way down the last decade while its efficiency has gone way up? How about whether green hydrogen can go from boutique to major player in energy? And what about the promises and the challenges, from high costs for many consumers to environmental tradeoffs of electrifying the transportation industry? The Associated Press is seeking a reporter to cover the vast beat of renewable energies, telling stories in all formats that help people understand and relate to the dramatic transformations that are occurring. The successful applicant will have good sourcing around energy issues and be able to break news that others don’t have. We are looking for a storyteller: someone who can help translate smart, fact-based work on climate change, looking to inform people on the energy transition, what is working and what may not be. This person will be interested in thinking particularly about clean energy developments and equity – the ability of people across geographies and income levels to access and use green technologies.
