Audacy’s KCBS All News Radio, The Bay Area’s number one news station, is looking for an intrepid and tech-savvy journalist with a positive attitude and impressive work ethic to join an elite news team.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

Edit and produce newscasts (including but not limited to selecting, editing and/or writing news content)
Manage the flow of news and information (including but not limited to receiving and researching news tips, calling on breaking stories, conducting off-air interviews with officials and newsmakers)
Edit audio for broadcast and digital assets
Collaborate with colleagues about news coverage (i.e. propose and contribute to daily and long-term coverage plans)
Research and arrange compelling live and pre-recorded interviews
Promote news coverage on a variety of channels, including broadcast, social media, the Audacy app and station website
Contribute content to the station’s social media channels, the Audacy app and the station website, KCBSradio.com
Protect the station’s FCC license
Other duties as required by management
Must be available to work all hours, overnights, and weekends and be amenable to changes in work shift
Required to join SAG-AFTRA

Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and candidates must be able to take a detail-oriented approach to work while meeting tight deadlines. You must be creative and proactive. We are looking for a proficient news gatherer who uses a variety of sources and is comfortable with audio and video editing equipment and programs. We are seeking a journalist who collaborates with colleagues and feels comfortable pitching story and interview ideas to colleagues. You will be expected to actively participate on various social media channels and contribute content to the station’s digital assets, including the Audacy app and station website, KCBSradio.com. Experience in the San Francisco market is a plus, but not required.

KCBS is a 24/7 live and local news station. The Part-Time News Editor/Producer schedule will vary, and may include evenings, overnights, mornings and/or weekends, subject to change based on station and news/coverage needs.

Required & Preferred

A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
