WBBM Newsradio, Chicago’s number one news station, is looking for a talented Anchor/Reporter hybrid with an enterprising attitude and impressive work ethic to join our team of award-winning journalists. This is a part-time position. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, overnights, holidays and/or weekends. You will be expected to operate under tight deadlines, work collaboratively, and pitch story ideas. You will also be expected to be active on various social media channels and contribute content to the station website.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Anchor over the course of multiple hours on WBBM - including running a board
Conceptualize, write, produce and record news segments
Gather audio in the community, conduct interviews on-scene, provide live coverage during breaking news
Use social media during the course of your shift to connect with listeners, promote upcoming stories and interviews, and to highlight station content
Contribute content - including but not limited to audio, video and written format – to WBBMNewsradio.com
Deliver the news in a conversational and authoritative way
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

Required & Preferred
You must be dependable, self-motivated and agreeable to a flexible work schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, overnights and/or weekends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as a strong sense of journalistic ethics
You must have experience anchoring and writing news
Familiarity with the Chicago market is a plus
Required to join the SAG-AFTRA union
A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
