About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join ABC RN’s award-winning Science Unit on a temporary basis, as our dedicated digital health reporter. You will cover the latest medical research, explain poorly understood health issues, and write in-depth features that explore how health and medicine affect people’s lives.
You will write stories for the ABC News website and collaborate with specialist colleagues in RN, including audio and social media producers, as well as with ABC News Digital and other relevant teams across the ABC.
This Role Will See You
Source, research, write, produce, sub-edit and publish stories on the latest health and medical research stories.
Create a range of digital content – using new and emerging formats - to give the ABC’s audience a better understanding of the background and context of health, medical and related lifestyle news stories.
Research, write, produce, sub-edit and publish long-form, visually rich digital features focusing on health and related lifestyle topics.
Work with relevant ABC content makers on cross-team health, medical and related lifestyle investigations and collaborations.
Develop and maintain contacts in the health and medical research community.
Use social media creatively to help source stories and distribute content to engage new audiences.
