About The Role
Keen to experience life in a vibrant NT town, with a strong Indigenous community and close access to the world-famous waterfalls of Kakadu National Park, rugged Nitmiluk Gorge and beautiful Mataranka hot springs? ABC Regional & Local is seeking a Reporter who is keen to work and live in one of the most interesting places in Australia, bringing creative ideas to reporting on rural and primary industry issues in the Top End. Working alongside the Katherine team and reporting to the Editor, ABC Alice Springs, you will be responsible for creating news content for multiple platforms, engaging the diverse local and national audiences. You'll source and file exceptional online, video and audio stories for a range of live broadcast and on-demand platforms, as well as respond to breaking news in the area.

About You
You're an experienced journalist with a strong focus on digital and multi-platform storytelling and in particular the issues that affect the interest of the diverse local audience. You will have initiative, drive and be a strong team player.

You Will Be Able To Demonstrate

A creative approach to content construction and delivery, and accomplished experience in live presentation and broadcast.
You will have demonstrated skills in writing for online, TV and radio as well as experience as a VJ, shooting your own stories.
Accomplished editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise sound judgement.
Demonstrated strong understanding of the issues that affect and interest the relevant audience.
