About the Role
ABC News is looking for two talented and highly motivated journalist to join its dedicated team based at Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
Under routine direction of the Editor, ABC Mid North Coast and Coffs Coast, you will create high-performing online stories, engaging videos for broadcast and digital platforms, audio news and packages for live radio and on demand and have the opportunity to share the stories of local people and the community nationally.
As a Reporter, you will:
Produce and present news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
Write digital articles for the ABC News online, and create video content for broadcast, digital and social media platforms
Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new digital-first content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
Identify and develop, in collaboration with colleagues, local content that can be shared with other content teams across the ABC on multiple platforms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
Demonstrated experience in delivering breaking and original journalism for multiple platforms.
Strong editorial instincts, with experience in crafting stories
Proficient editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement.
Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect and interest the local audience.
A current and valid Driver’s Licence
