The ABC strives for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and to promote a culture of opportunity. Through its services the ABC seeks to represent, connect and engage with all of the Australian community. In line with our focus on diversity, applications are strongly encouraged from Indigenous Australians, people from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people with disability and LGBTIQA+ individuals. The ABC also aims to achieve a gender-balanced workforce. The ABC is the nation's most trusted and independent source of conversations, culture, and stories. With over 4,000 employees from diverse backgrounds, located across over 50 locations around Australia and overseas, we are proud to create, curate and deliver high-quality programming that informs, educates and entertains Australian communities. The ABC’s Regional & Local team is all about Australian communities and their conversations. Our teams create unique and distinctive content that connect communities and shape lives in metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. From our city and regional bureaux, through to screen, live events and sport, Regional & Local is about real people, real places and real life. We are looking for people who want to find and tell stories to reflect the diverse Australian population to the biggest audiences possible. You will be located outside of a capital city, enthusiastic and self-motivated and able to bring a perspective from your backyard. You’ll be supported in this program by mentors and staff, both on location and nationally, who’ll train you in many functions of regional bureaus and facilitate your success in these roles.
