Highlands Publications, a Birmingham-based publisher of nationally distributed trade magazines, is seeking an experienced editor/assistant editor to join their team. If you are detail-oriented, have experience working in the editorial field, and possess tremendous organizational skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As the editor/assistant editor, you will be responsible for editing, proofing, writing, phone interviews, and cultivating all editorial leads and sources. Additionally, you will establish working relationships with manufacturers, large and small, and must be able to work with minimal direction on multiple tasks while adhering to tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and understand our target industry, be proficient in editing and proofing, and have technical writing ability. You should also be able to seek out and develop a large network of potential editorial contributors, conduct phone interviews, and establish and maintain business relationships in our target industry.
