Dallas Contributor

Baylor Line is looking for a freelance writer who can report and write one-to-two articles a month on Baylor graduates and their unique stories across the DFW metroplex. We seek stories about individual and groups of Baylor graduates doing incredible, interesting, and previously unreported activities in their career or life. Beyond merely reporting the latest news, this coverage will focus on narratives and characters to make each story relatable and compelling for readers. This is a contract position available to writers based anywhere in Texas (ideally the Dallas-Fort Worth area) and will report to the editor-in-chief.

Contractor responsibilities include:

Writing one-to-two articles per month for Baylor Line about Baylor graduates in the DFW area
Pitching story ideas regularly to the editor-in-chief
Communicating regularly with editors, including responding promptly to edits
Assembling (and sometimes coordinating) appropriate art for each story

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Previous experience reporting and contributing to legitimate editorial outlets
An ability to write compelling narrative- and character-focused stories
An ability to develop story ideas that appeal to a wide general audience
An existing network of Baylor graduates in the DFW area
