Picture Editor

The role of Picture Editor (Digital Video) is part of the Visual Journalism and Audiences department, which is where BBC Wales News’ audience and visual expertise sits. As a Picture Editor, you will be working within a small Digital Video team primarily on content for the BBC Wales News website and social accounts. You will be editing on the day, as well as planned, original stories into engaging, creative video and insightful, shareable graphics. The picture editor will work mainly on creating content for our digital services, and occasionally for our TV programmes. You will be shooting and editing your own material, as well as working closely with different reporters and producers editing material into engaging content for our audiences Online. You will use a range of video and digital equipment to shoot, assemble, edit and deliver content, to the highest professional standards – recognising the distinct requirements of different services and ensuring that the output reflects the audiences we serve.
