Job Purpose
BBC Studios is seeking a Senior Curation Editor to shape the digital experience for global audiences on bbc.com. Based in Washington, DC, you will manage homepage and key content areas, ensuring a dynamic and engaging mix of news and factual content.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Curate and optimize content for bbc.com and the app, maintaining editorial integrity and responsiveness to breaking news.
Craft compelling headlines and select impactful visuals, prioritizing mobile-friendly presentation.
Plan and execute real-time updates, push alerts, and long-term curation strategies.
Leverage audience data and industry trends to enhance engagement and user experience.
Collaborate with teams across BBC News, Sport, Audience Development, and Product to align priorities.
Document clear handovers and flag technical issues promptly.
Participate in a rotating schedule for public holiday coverage, with occasional weekend work.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
5+ years in digital journalism, with experience in homepage management, news curation, or digital publishing.
Strong editorial judgment and ability to prioritize under pressure.
Deep understanding of audience behavior, engagement strategies, and analytics.
Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to impartiality and BBC’s editorial values.
Additional Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11 AM – 7 PM ET (shifts to 12 PM – 8 PM ET during daylight savings).

Compensation
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.This range is not inclusive of a competitive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule & benefits including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match.
