Salary: Upto £50,000 approx. depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction
The BBC in the West produces the region’s most watched evening news programmes. Our viewers come to us for an unrivalled service of local daily news and analysis of events. The team also produces material across all our services including the BBC News Website, Local Radio and Social Media.
Main Responsibilities
We’re looking for a Senior Journalist Presenter who has a proven track record in handling a wide news agenda with confidence.
You’ll be expected to present and produce the full range of TV news programmes and bulletins broadcast in the West. This includes Breakfast, Lunchtime and Late Bulletins, as well as Weekends. In addition, you need experience of presenting a longer form programme, as part of your role will be standing in for the 1830 presenter during the week.
There may also be the requirement to work as a reporter.
You will have experience in dealing with breaking news. You will need experience of putting programme running orders together as well as planning, filming and reporting on stories. In addition, experience of planning and filming your own stories, ideally on a MoJo kit will be required.
All our journalists are working across all platforms and we would want the successful candidate to be have strong writing for online skills, be able to take quality stills for digital stories and be up to date with the latest trends in Social Media content.

Extensive experience of presenting a live news programme.
Proven Editorial judgement. Ability to provide content and write stories for Digital
An understanding of the different requirements of Digital platforms.
Experience of Lone working.
The ability to select stories, arrange them and deploy reporters and camera crews.
Ability to handle a wide news agenda with good editorial judgement and legal knowledge.
Be able to shoot and edit packages.
