BetaKit is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Editor to join our growing nationwide editorial team. The successful candidate will have a passion for business news and a proven ability to find and report breaking news stories. In addition to leading and supporting the development of in-depth and investigative features, they will also demonstrate strong writing skills across a variety of formats (e.g. web, social, newsletters). Responsibilities:
Organize and manage BetaKit’s regular news coverage, including story identification and generation, team assignment, copy and editorial review, and digital publication.
Research and report on original content, including breaking news, briefs, events, quarterly reports, investigative work, and features.
Source and coordinate with new freelance writing talent for BetaKit in growing regions, content types, and topics.
Develop and maintain reliable sources with strategic ecosystem players and partners.
Represent BetaKit in various public formats, including panels, podcasts, and social media.
Monitor local, national, and global news developments on an ongoing basis.
Uphold and enforce BetaKit’s high editorial standards.

Qualifications
Education: Journalism/Communications preferred.
Experience: Must have newsroom and business journalism experience.
Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to work under tight deadlines; ability to edit and improve submitted written work on short notice.
Traits: Passion for business journalism; interest in independent media; adept in a high-pressure environment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with CP Stylebook, Caps and Spelling, content and graphic editors is beneficial.
