CALLING ALL WRITERS! Betches – the brand you’ve known and loved forever — has recently relaunched its website. We’re looking for hilarious, fresh takes on everything from pop culture to pontifications on the existential dilemmas of the average betch.
Want to write about the real-life shit no one is talking about, like how to not be the absolute worst human on Venmo, why scheduled sex is low-key the fucking best, or why you chose to elope for $100 instead of throwing away your life savings on an extravagant wedding? Want to share tips on how to navigate the late-stage capitalist hellscape that is modern work, or write a passionate essay in defense of someone everyone hates, like, IDK, Dean from Gilmore Girls?! Do you have one more must-read take on Vanderpump Rules or Taylor Swift’s dating history?
Pitch us a story.
Here’s the deal: We’re looking for stories on everything from pop culture and nostalgia, to sex and dating, to everything health and wellness. But not the aspirational content you see on other women’s media websites. We wanna talk about messy, authentic real-life shit.
We’d love to hear from experienced writers, but we’re also looking for new voices to add to the mix — so don’t let a lack of experience stop you from reaching out. If you do decide you want to pitch us, remember a few things:
Who We Are
Betches is a multimedia brand developed and run for women, by women. We’re a safe space to vent, scream, and deliver scathing hot takes on everything that pisses you off; an honest sounding board for advice on relatable shit; and a place to laugh (instead of cry) when life gets hard.
Our Voice
Our voice should come across just as thoughtful, smart, and inclusive as it is naturally hilarious, self-aware, and relatable. We can be self-deprecating, but not self-hating. We should be confident and real, but not preachy or offensive. We should, more than anything, be funny, but absolutely not cheesy. Our tone is humorous and snarky, but it’s okay to be a little earnest (but only a little bit). Don’t be afraid to show off your voice — even in the subject line and body of your email.
