Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a to join Power T&D as a Bid Writer the successful candidate should live within a commutable distance to our Derby office.
Power T&D is about to embark on a journey of unprecedented growth, this role is available Full time or Part time, because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren't available full time.
Role Purpose:
Act as the Lead Author to produce professionally written, consistent proposal content that clearly articulates Balfour Beatty's value proposition.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Bid Writer you will:
Develop Value propositions tailored to customers unique requirements;
Assist the Bid Managers in developing a proposal structure;
Conduct answer planning sessions;
Create response structures and compiling narrative for BBLP, Balvac and Ground Engineering quality responses. Aligned to the customers evaluation criteria and objectives;
Provide one BB tone of voice across quality submissions;
Manage content and structure for evidence and case studies;
Develop case studies and evidence with contract teams and subject matter experts;
Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts;
Coordinate and manage response review sessions;
Support with submission graphics and final documents upload;
Ability to coach operational teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice;
Support with bid and systems administration.
Who we're looking for
Personal Qualities and Experience:
Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment;
Experienced in leading answer planning sessions, participating in key review meetings/ final document review, content sign off and document production;
Experience of coordinating and updating a knowledge base system is beneficial;
Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels of the business;
Ability to use a range of tools, methods and search engines, to analyse and assimilate data, such as competitor analysis or customer research;
Collate proposal documents using library/information stores, search engines/corporate directories;
Ability to work collaboratively with work winning, operational teams and supply chain;
Must have at least 2-years in a similar bid writing role
Qualifications:
Certified to APMP Foundation or Practitioner Level;
Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office.
