We're looking for a Senior Editor to cover US Elections for the Bloomberg News Data Visualization team, a group of journalists based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
As a Senior Editor, your responsibilities will include: leading data visualization reporters and engineers to execute a comprehensive, cross-platform US election results experience that allows readers to follow the vote count in real time; inspiring the team to design an experience that’s informative and seamless for users to navigate; ensuring visualizations present data with clarity; and collaborating with Bloomberg stakeholders to ensure the product is aligned with our coverage and promotional priorities.
You’ll also have opportunities to edit data visualizations, covering topics including US politics, elections and other coverage areas of importance to Bloomberg readers. Relying on your sound news judgment, refined design sensibilities and technical knowledge, you’ll inspire the team and the wider newsroom to execute inventive data-driven visual storytelling. We’ll expect you to be a supportive mentor — as eager to pitch your own ideas as you are encouraging of others — who finds reward in elevating and refining the work of the team through effective visual and narrative editing.
