Bloomberg's Global Technology group is seeking an aggressive, creative reporter to help cover Southeast Asia's technology industry and the region's growing role in a widening US-Chinese technology and geopolitical conflict. This person will be part of a team based in Singapore that will follow increasing US and Chinese investments in startups, high-end tech manufacturing from semiconductors to iPhones, and in social media and content. You'll work with the global tech, media and telecommunications teams and collaborate with the bureaus around the world to tell broader stories of how technology and capital is transforming the region's economy, society and culture.
You're an agile reporter who's familiar with the rise of China as a global economy and political power as well as broader conflict with the US in technology, trade and investment policy. You're able to write quickly and crisply on the most pressing tech issues of the day. You're the type of person who has a knack for quickly coming up with original ideas and thoughtful analysis on the biggest tech stories -- a cogent rundown of the latest developments in the business of technology, not just in the startup space but also the release of a new gadget, a bankruptcy, a management overhaul or a funding round that elevates an unknown startup into overnight unicorn status. You have an eye for the stories no one else is telling on an intensely covered beat, and versatile enough to write for a variety of platforms, including the Web, Bloomberg terminal and Bloomberg Businessweek magazine.
We'll trust you to:
Break news and uncover exclusive information on your beat
Tell feature-length stories about the companies and values of Asian technology
Work with other reporters on the technology team and beyond to expand our impact
Be committed to the best journalistic practices, sound judgment and a willingness to learn

Atleast 3 years of experience working in a real-time news environment
Recent work experience covering technology in China or the US as a reporter
Fluency in both spoken and written English & Mandarin to support China coverage

An interest in Asia, technology and how the country is evolving
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
