Bloomberg is looking for an experienced podcast producer to work on Zero, a weekly interview podcast that explores the policies, tactics and clean technologies taking us to a future of zero emissions. The producer will work in concert with Zero host Akshat Rathi to develop thought-provoking episodes that help listeners understand the most salient developments in the climate and energy space, and to leverage the strength of Bloomberg Green to tell important stories with, where possible, high-profile guests.
There will be opportunity to work on other shows in the Bloomberg Podcast portfolio, and collaborate with a larger audio team and reporters and editors in the wider newsroom.
Responsibilities:
Pitching episode and guest ideas
Producing and reporting, both in the field and in the studio
Supporting hosts editorially during interviews
Logging tape and pulling archival
Syncing, cutting interviews, tracking Show assembly, light and sound design
Collaborate on scripting episodes with the ability to develop the story arc, outline, and framing of episodes
Book interviews both internally and externally
Building an episode assembly
Implementing edits on episodes
Comfortable with being on mic is a bonus
Have excellent news judgement and be able to provide thoughts on the biggest business news stories of the day/ week
Help manage the long-term editorial calendar and day to day production tasks Can edit for sensitivity and quality concerns
Skills and experience:
Experience in a newsroom environment or on projects with rigorous journalistic ethics - Reporting experience in addition to experience with production tasks
Experience with field, remote and in-studio production
Demonstrated interest in covering business news
This show is produced using Descript, Audition and Google Docs. Proficiency in editing software (Audition) is required (Pro Tools is a plus)
Any experience in Sound engineering, Sound Design, and Story Editing
