You work with machine learning tools to process and edit automated news stories. You will use strong news judgement, editing and proofreading skills to edit content under deadline pressure. You will work accurately and independently to harness the capabilities of digital platforms and tools.
What you will do:
Edit breaking news stories that are developed by machine learning tools for content, style and digital functionality. Ensure quality standards are met.
Edit copy quickly and concisely.
Verify information related to unit's scope of coverage through sources or other means.
Coordinate with other assignment editors in division, with other Bloomberg Industry Group units, and with Bloomberg to avoid overlap in coverage.
Maintain subject-area knowledge related to unit's scope of news coverage, including current awareness of issues and developments in the field.
Occasionally report and write articles.
Coordinate editorial projects within division, as needed.
Leverage organizational skills to juggle multiple stories across formats and platforms while meeting deadlines.
Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned, including managing social media platforms and maintaining homepages for news websites.
You need to have:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in journalism, including internships, campus media and part-time work.
Working knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes a plus.
