Bloomberg is looking for an enterprising reporter to chronicle what promises to be one of the major challenges in the world's transition away from fossil fuels: where to find sufficient supplies of metal. We want someone who can break news on the biggest companies responsible for supplying the materials key to both financial markets and the global energy transition, while also being able to chronicle the environmental challenges and political tension inherent in mining. The successful candidate must be comfortable interviewing executives in the boardroom as well as workers out in the field. We're looking for an aggressive reporter, able to break important news and then step back and write the definitive story for a broad audience on an industry in a period of extreme change, with shareholders increasing pressure on companies to reduce their carbon footprint, add diversity to c-suites and boards, and take action on longstanding problems including workplace harassment.
