About The Role
The Senior Content Creator & Editor is responsible for executing and editing written deliverables that support our B2B marketing organization and sales team. The Senior Content Creator & Editor will produce and support the execution of a wide range of content and copy that align to key moments of the customer journey -- from strategy documents, buyer personas, and blog posts, to case stories, ebooks, white papers, webinar decks, landing pages, website copy, event collateral, email copy, sales collateral and more. Project management skills are critical for this role. You need to be organized, methodic, and strategic, and capable of keeping multiple projects ongoing at the same time.
The Sr Content Creator & Editor is an idea generator, thought partner and seamless executor, inspiring product marketing and sales enablement members of the marketing team to refine their strategic messaging approach across channels and help to create thru lines across all the customer facing material we produce. They are dedicated to constantly improving our content quality, while simultaneously enhancing our audience’s engagement throughout their journey as prospects and customers. The Sr Content Creator & Editor is equal parts creative and analytical, measuring content’s progress across objectives and pivoting as necessary to hit content objectives.
The Sr Content Creator & Editor reports into the Creative Manager, Copy + Content strategy, and will work alongside Product Marketing to refine, edit, and infuse voice and tone direction into all of our materials created with product messaging. In addition, The Sr. Content Creator & Editor will be a strategic thought partner for our sales enablement team supporting the development and execution of all of all collateral to support the sales org from conception to editing.
Responsibilities:
Work alongside Product Marketing and Sales Enablement to understand the holistic customer journey and help identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend strategic improvements
Write and/or edit blog articles, ebooks, white papers, customer stories, press releases, one-pagers, sales collateral, email copy, landing page copy, and more
Translate complicated subject matter into simple, compelling copy across deliverables that will resonate with target personas.
Research competitor positioning and develop a deep knowledge of the edtech landscape
Primary proofreader and editor for all team content before publication
Drive decision-making around the content production process, constantly suggesting ideas to improve work streams and copy output.
Conduct simple keyword research and partner with the growth marketing team to understand SEO best practices to increase traffic to our site
Ensure all-around brand consistency (style, tone, voice, and grammar), and a consistent quality- appropriate for audiences and channels.
Champion written brand identity across the business, and partner with design on how to best accompany written content strategy.
Apply insights from content measurement to future content creation and production to ensure the team is reaching all content objectives.
Connect the dots between the brand writers and product produced content- identifying misalignments and making suggestions on how to refine.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in B2B content strategy and content writing
Experience developing content in the Edtech sector required; demonstrated business acumen in Edtech industry
Experience developing content across multiple marketing channels; experience supporting a B2B sales org
Familiar with edtech and B2B sales strategies; experience making suggestions for how to optimize the content produced to support the end to end customer journey.
Experience working alongside product marketers or a product marketing division to clarify and simplify product messaging across brochures, events, landing pages, case stories, and more.
Knowledgeable on the fundamentals of SEO and keyword research
BA/BS degree a plus, preferably in marketing, business, or communications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Skilled writer and editor
Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills; attention to detail and timelines
Can provide portfolio or relevant writing samples

The BrainPOP team operates in a hybrid work environment: Each role has remote flexibility and an in-person component at our New York headquarters or other meeting locations. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. Based on these factors, we expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
