BridgeTower Media is looking for a Digital Production Editor to work with our JournalRecord.com brand in Oklahoma City. We need someone to produce and manage our website content, daily email products, and manage content for our digital and print publications.
We're looking for someone with a college degree with a major focus on communications, journalism, English or writing with copy editing experience. You must be a self-starter who is comfortable asking questions plus working remotely and with a local team.
This role is chiefly responsible for uploading and optimizing content to the assigned website, plus copyediting for the print publication. The editor posts content and social media for assigned websites. Activities include creating emails, troubleshooting issues with the websites, creating new ways to harness our online-only features, serving the web needs on the business side as needed (publisher, events, advertising), and working with our marketing team to promote the websites and engage readers.
Oversees online products for the publication, working with publishers, editors and other staff.
Is responsible for social media strategies, not only for the news operations but for marketing, events and advertising products.
Manages the publication's websites to present compelling content that serves the organizations' audiences.
Oversees editorial, marketing, sales and event email newsletters.
Monitors and assesses analytics and metrics to help management teams evaluate how products are performing.
Helps copyedit content for web and print products

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
The ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of departments.
Fluency with WordPress, HTML, Google and SEO tools and technologies.
Familiarity with InCopy
Knowledge of AP Style
Experience with Google Analytics and Parse.ly to review regularly which content is drawing the most traffic while identifying problems and opportunities within our key metrics.
News judgment, curiosity and a strategic understanding of the news and digital needs of a niche professional market.
Copyediting experience
An ability to juggle projects and to shift between them as needed.
Sense of urgency and a keen eye for detail and accuracy
