The Bucks County Courier Times, part of the USA Today Network, is seeking a dynamic and driven journalist to join our team as a Bucks County Development Reporter. his reporter will always have the answer to “what’s going there” in Bucks County. We want you to be our go-to reporter who knows what’s coming, whether commercial, industrial or residential, when and what impact it will have as our communities change and grow. We want to know first and deliver the news to our audience the way they want it – fast and digestible for their busy lives. Tell us how you would craft this coverage of local business, real estate, government planning decisions and growth.

We need:

Timely and insightful reporting on major businesses in the county, tracking their developments, expansions, and impacts on the community.
Proactive identification and coverage of trends shaping Bucks County's business landscape, and responsive – and responsible – reporting on those trends.
Smart coverage of local small businesses, highlighting their success stories, and addressing their challenges with reporting that connects to our readers’ lives.
Reader-forward coverage of local, county, and state government decisions affecting the business climate in Bucks County.

Responsibilities:

Use metrics and analytics to determine how to best reach and grow the audience.
Increase digital audience and engagement

Apply innovative, creative thinking to support the company’s goals.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or master’s in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in professional journalism writing and reporting or substantial internship or fellowship experience.
Understanding of metrics, social media and SEO.
Solid news judgment.
Self-motivation and self-direction.
Top-notch planning, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
Command of media law and principles of ethical conduct.
This role requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.
Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check & urinalysis drug screen.
