Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and results-driven Business Development Consultant and Proposal Writer with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in government contracting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, well-versed in federal, state, and local procurement processes, and capable of developing winning proposals that meet or exceed client expectations. While Shipley certification is considered ideal, it is not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Conduct market research to identify government contracting opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels.
Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, prime contractors, and potential teaming partners.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and goals, providing strategic advice on government contracting strategies.
Write, review, and edit comprehensive and compelling proposals, ensuring compliance with all RFP/RFQ requirements.
Manage the entire proposal development process, including proposal schedule, content, and coordination with subject matter experts.
Ensure proposals are submitted accurately and on time.
Monitor and analyze government procurement trends, regulations, and changes in the competitive landscape.
Continuously improve proposal development processes and templates.
Stay updated on industry best practices and innovations in government contracting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting, with a proven track record of winning contracts.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement processes and regulations.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal development tools.
Shipley certification (ideal, but not required).
