The Business Post has put in place an ambitious strategy to engage with and serve its readers, subscribers, listeners, and viewers while building a financially sustainable media business that can promote independent journalism into the future. The publisher now seeks to appoint an editor to lead the Business Post into the next stage of the title's development. The editor will be responsible for creating a multimedia content strategy with a dual focus of accelerating the brand's digital growth and protecting the core print product. Key to this will be the ability to use data insights to shape the editorial direction of the content in order to build audiences and develop communities at a time of enormous change, while upholding the values of trusted, fact checked and independent journalism. The primary responsibility of the editor of the Business Post is to manage the day-to-day strategy and development of the digital and print content, in line with editorial standards as defined by the board, while maintaining a clear focus on the wider strategy of the Business Post brand. A multitude of factors such as developments in media consumption habits, notable advancements in technology and heightened demand for advertising revenue have resulted in a highly competitive media landscape. The board of the Business Post sees this as an opportunity and looks to appoint an editor who will rise to the challenge and embrace a growth mindset. The editor will serve as a member of the Business Post leadership team, contribute to the overall strategy of the organisation and report directly to the CEO on all editorial matters for the Business Post brand. They will also engage with the heads of the various other pillars of the group, including experiences, data and insights and learning, to explore and execute on wider content synergies. The editor will work closely with the CEO in managing the resources of the Business Post and in achieving both annual and strategic business goals set by the CEO and the board.
