You will be improving content coverage in the CABI Compendium, particularly in support of scientists, biosecurity professionals and other actors preventing and mitigating the impacts of invasive species. The role includes developing invasive species datasheets; identifying authors and commissioning/processing datasheets through to acceptance. The role also involves supporting the processing of data for bulk uploading to datasheet lists and tables. There may also be opportunities to support the development and user training for CABI Compendium’s decision support tools such as the Invasive Species Discovery Tool and the PRA Tool.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Commission datasheets to meet project targets according to predefined commissioning lists.
Process datasheets through peer review.
Ensure the keeping of thorough and accurate records relating to commissioning.
As needs arise, support maintenance of key datasets published in the Compendium such as species distribution data, species-species relationships, species-habitat associations, etc.
Processing datasets as needed for bulk loading into the products.
Assist in the creation of other content, such as writing blogs
Contribute to the specification of requirements and testing of product improvements.
Participate in other projects and business development opportunities where required.
ABOUT YOU
A degree in a bioscience discipline, preferably to post-graduate level, or able to demonstrate strength in working in life science fields.
Experience of working with journals and datasets, and conducting desk research would be desirable.
Good attention to detail and robust organisational skills.
Demonstrable ability in written communication.
Good research skills and ability to think creatively about content and commissioning.
Excellent time management and able to manage own workload.
